Workshops
Workshops are designed to help you build a better relationship with your horse, for you to feel in control and safe when around your horse or out riding. They are ideal for all, whether you want to further your own existing horsemanship skills or are new to riding or getting back into riding.

Workshops are generally two days held over a weekend. If there is a demand, it is possible to do shorter workshops. I am also available to travel within New Zealand.
Workshops cover the basics of horsemanship, teaching the rider the necessary skills needed to be safe around horses including learning basic ground skills that will prepare your horse for the ridden work that will follow. We then move on to starting to work on lateral movements, working on a turn on the haunches or walk pirouettes, working on a soft feel and improving our back up. Also, riding accurate patterns with our horses, picking up correct leads, simple changes and getting your horse confident with different terrain and obstacles.
The objective of workshops is to teach you and your horse how to keep safe by developing some tools that will enable you to keep in control of your horse when you are placed in dangerous and challenging situations.
The aim is for you and your horse to leave with more confidence in your ability to do things. We can also work on any particular issues you have with your horse.
