Scott O'Malley

Scott grew up in Canterbury, New Zealand and has always had a love for horses. Originally he trained and worked as a joiner but in his early twenties he went to Europe for work and travel. It was here he got an opportunity to work with a horseman and decided he wanted to turn his hobby and passion into a career.
The following 4 years he spent studying in Europe alongside some very knowledgeable horsemen. The first 2 years were spent with Dave Stuart in the UK, an Australian horseman which accelerated his learning and first exposed him to starting young horses under saddle. He also spent time in France with Andy Booth, another Australian horseman based at Haras de la Cense in Paris.
Another good friend and mentor of his is Steve Halfpenny of Silversand Horsemanship. Other indirect influences on the methods he uses are Buck Brannaman and Marc Rashid.
Now Scott has been running his successful horsemanship business for the last 5 years, starting horses under saddle for clients whilst running educational workshops and clinics.
